HeavilyMeducated started nearly 3 years ago, but you have probably never heard of it. The theory was simple as a group of medical students we wanted to share notes and create a platform where we could crowdsource our medical education. We all had different aspirations, strengths and learning and even teaching styles. We dreamed that this could be assimilated and put to good use. We had dropboxes and google drives of shared notes but thought there could be a better way. Long story short HeavilyMeducated never became what it was intended to. Now as an FY1 I am looking to revive this project.
So this first post mainly serves one function and that is, accountability. I want to outlay the aims of this project and have a point of reference for myself.
Not in the spirit of dreaming small the goals for HM are;
I have found a few mantra's extremely motivational when starting new habits and keeping them going.
"Just show up"
The theory goes if nothing else, showing up to do something, puts you in the mindset that you are already taking steps to achieving your goal. This is the simplest step you can take, imagine you want to start working out whilst you absolutely should set detailed goals remembering that on a bad day all you need to do is show up, to the gym, the class or just putting on jogging clothes, once you have got that far you feel more committed to the cause. So for HM my incredibly small goal for big gains is to just open my editor every single day. Step two, create 100 words of content every day, if nothing else that is 36,500 words of medical knowledge shared with the world each year.
If you have stumbled upon this by random, I have not used any SEO and I am definitely not expecting any form of following at this stage, but please leave a comment with any suggestions that you think would help us help you.
